Richard Tyrone Patterson Sr.

Richard Tyrone Patterson, Sr., 84, of Anderson, passed away peacefully
on March 10, 2025.

He was born June 12,1940 to the late William and Mary Patterson. At a
young age, he accepted Christ at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Richard graduated from Anderson High School in 1959. He married the late
Delores E. Patterson in 1962 and together they created a life dedicated to
love, family and making unforgettable memories.

He retired from Delco Remy after 40 years. He enjoyed watching classic
movies and Colts and Pacers games, taking car trips, and spending time
with his family and friends. But, perhaps, his greatest love was being on the
dance floor with his wife.

Richard leaves to cherish his memory; children, Cassaundra Patterson-
Day, Richard (Glenie) Patterson, Jr., Quentin Patterson, Riche’ (Jimal)
Miller; grandchildren, Sheena (Jesse) Spears, Patterson (Christel) Day,
Quentin II and Ian Patterson, Peyton and Taylor Miller; great-grandchildren,
Tylah and Jesse Spears, Loren Day, Liam Stitt and Sophia McWilliams;
siblings, Hattie Turner, Rosanna Streaty, Queen Esther (Bill) Payne, and
Leslie Patterson; numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and a host of
special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife; brothers,
Bennie Patterson, James Patterson, William Patterson, Matthew Patterson,
David Patterson, and Leonard Patterson; sisters, Fannie Fuller, Ollie Mae
Patterson, Arnetta Hawkins, and Martha Early.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until services at 12 noon, Tuesday, March 18,
2025 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Burial at Anderson Memorial
Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s
Association Greater Indiana Chapter.
