Robert D. Morris Sr.

Anderson - Robert Donald Morris Sr., 90, Anderson, died August 23, 2011 at Ball Memorial Hospital-Muncie after an extended illness. He was born August 2, 1921 in Montpelier, Indiana, and resided in Anderson most of his life. He served his country in the US Air Force during WWII. He was a police officer in Anderson for 20 years and after retirement, he became the Director of Safety and Security for the Anderson Public Schools. He was a member of West Anderson Church of God and the Anderson F.O.P. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruby Bathauer Morris; children, Kay Garry Garrison of Anderson, Robert Jan Morris Jr. of Muncie and Lora Jesse Collins of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Michael Amy Bryant, Bradley Bryant, Marni Morris, Jason Emily Morris, Jesse Collins Jr., Mason, Daniel and Libby Collins; great grandchildren, Caleb, Alea, Jaden and Cayden Bryant and Samantha & Jocelyn Morris. Special thanks to Natalie Dean, Roxanne & Kelly Williams, and Ann & Wayne Nichols for their care and support and Ball Memorial ICU unit and staff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry D. & Eva Eppley Morris. Visitation will be from 12:30-2:30 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson. Services will be Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 2:30 PM, at the funeral home with Rev. Jason Morris officiating. Cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
