Robert L. Thompson

Bob grew up in Winchester, Indiana.

He was a caring husband, father, and grandfather who worked hard to provide for his family. He retired from General Motors (Guide Lamp) after 30 years of employment. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, weightlifting, raising rabbits, playing softball, going to the Indy 500, and taking family vacations each summer. Later on, he liked gardening, watching basketball and football games, and NASCAR races on TV. As he got older, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Larie, his daughter, Melissa Wigger, his parents, and his son-in-law, Steven Wigger.

He is survived by his children, Mark A. Thompson, Anderson, and Martisha Webb (Duane), Muncie; his grandchildren, Christina Himelick (Keith), Rachel Himelick (Micah), Marjorie Lane, Elisabeth Heskett (Mark), and Jordan Webb; nine great-grandchildren; his brother, Gene Thompson (Charlene).

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd Street Anderson, with Pastor Mark Heskett officiating and Duane Webb speaking. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
