He was born on June 6, 1937, in Anderson, the son of Orville Wilbur and Edna Mae Holloway.
Ron retired as a forklift and truck driver for Delco Remy Division of General Motors, retiring after 35 years of service.
During retirement, Ron’s passion became remodeling his beloved 1958 Chevrolet Impala from a hunk of junk to a show winner in numerous car shows he and Avis would attend as members of the Kokomo Chevy Car Club. Ron also refinished old U.S. Army Jeeps as well.
One of Ron and Avis’ favorite activities was attending events of their sons and grandchildren throughout the years in support. This list includes baseball, softball, basketball, golf, running, band, guard, volleyball, and soccer among others. If they could make it, they were there.
Ron was a 1955 graduate of Markleville High School and was a proud U.S. Army veteran, training troops for combat. Ron, along with his brother Larry and friend Dave Rebenack, formed the Pendleton Junior Football League in 1973 with the Pendleton Packers. Ron also coached hundreds of boys in the Pendleton Junior Baseball League over the years as well as served as league president while spending countless hours at the ballpark volunteering.
He is survived by his loving wife whom he married on November 19, 1961, Avis (Miller) Holloway: sons Doug (Jackie), Rod (Pam), and Steve(Laura); grandchildren, Hunter, Ally, Cade, Avary, Hannah, Harrison, and Isabella; nieces and nephews, Terri, Tony, Tandy, Tracy, Teffenie, Trecia, Greg, Brad, Todd, Mike, Brian, John, Dennis, Carol, Jayson, Dawn, and Angie; and a cousin, Dora Mae.
