Roxie “Joan” Hale, 85, passed away peacefully at home with husband at her bedside. She was born in Knightstown, Indiana, on May 2, 1939, to the late Leonard and Zepha Jackson. In 2014, she and her husband, Richard, relocated to Sebring, Florida, after many years in Indiana.

Joan worked in the automotive industry for 30 years before retiring. She was a woman of many passions—an avid traveler, love crafting and working with beads, and a warm-hearted hostess who found joy in cooking and bringing family together. She and Richard shared a love for history, making an annual trip for 20 years to tour the historic homes of Marshall, Michigan. She cherished time with loved ones, whether through board games with friends or family gatherings filled with laughter and love.

Joan is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Richard Hale; her children, Brad Brummet (Judy), Dreama Wallace, Rene Arkin (Ed), and Troy Hale; her sisters, Kathy Glover and Sherry Clark; and five beloved grandchildren, Denay McCowan (Aaron), Thomas Wallace, Chloe Lelless (William), Anna Pilcher (Jack), Morgan Hale and four great grandchildren, Jayde McCowan, Peyton Wallace, Lillian McCowan and Baby Lelless due in 2025.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassionate Care Hospice for the outstanding care they provided to Joan and the support they offered the family.

Joan’s warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be deeply missed.
