Shirley Ann Hartzell

Shirley Ann (Day) Hartzell, 81, of Anderson, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2024, surrounded by family, following an extended illness. She was born on April 20, 1943 in Tipton, Indiana and resided most of her life in Anderson.

Her favorite pastimes included cross-word and jig-saw puzzles, and talking to her friends on Facebook.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Laura (Mike) Fort of Pendleton, IN; son, Shane Kopec of New Castle, IN; step-children, Amy (Tony) Brandon, Steve (Amy) Hartzell; grandchildren, Shelby, Taylor, Tessa, Alex, Nova, and Duncan; step-grandchildren, Jon, Nicholas, Jesse, Suzannah, Steven, Alex, and Emma; siblings, Patty and Michael; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Pearl; loving husband, Dennis; step-son, Danny; siblings, Connie, Marcia, and David; and her niece, Venus.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 16, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, IN.

Services will follow visitation on Tuesday, at 11:30 am.

Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association or Peyton Manning Children's Hospital.
