Sue Lynn Young

Sue Lynn Young, 84, of Byrdstown, TN, passed away on June 27, 2024, at IU Methodist Hospital Indianapolis. She was born on February 25, 1940, in Anderson, Indiana.

She worked as a Beautician for over 40 years. She was a longtime member of Whetstone Christian Church, where she married her husband. They enjoyed traveling to Dale Hollow and settled there after retirement. She loved singing in the choir, quilting, cross-stitching, cooking for her family and had the gift of hospitality. She hosted Bible studies, home economics groups, and holiday parties.

Sue Lynn is survived by her children; Willa Young-Ballentine, Vickie (Chris) Young-Jones, Mark (Susan) Young, Mike (Kim) Young; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren as well as 4 great-great-grandchildren; half-brothers, Phil (Darin Cox) Reeder, Jr., Chris (Robin) Reeder, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Young; father, John Maguire, mother, Pauline (Phillip, Sr) Reeder; son-in-law, Paul Ballentine, siblings, Bonnie Thompson and Donald Maguire.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 5, 2024, 9:30 am - 11:30 am at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street Anderson, IN.

Services will be held Friday, July 5, 2024, at 11:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating.

Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.
