Susan Renee Ifert

Susan Renee Ifert, age 80, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, September 25, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 29, 1946, in Anderson, Indiana, and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and steadfast love for her family and friends.

Susan was a 1964 graduate of Madison Heights High School in Anderson, Indiana, and carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life. She was a proud Hoosier through and through, and her Indiana roots remained an important part of who she was. A faithful member of CornerStone Methodist Church, she was a Christian woman whose faith guided her life and gave her strength, comfort, and grace through every season.

She devoted herself to her home and family as a loving and proud homemaker. Susan found joy in caring for those she loved and in creating a warm and welcoming home. Her life reflected the quiet dignity of a woman who gave generously of herself and who understood the importance of family, friendship, and faith. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her friendly nature, and the faith-filled spirit she shared with everyone around her.

Susan was an avid shopper and enjoyed following Indiana sports, always cheering on her beloved teams with enthusiasm and pride. Her love for her home state never faded, and she embraced her identity as a true Hoosier with joy. These interests brought her happiness and were part of the personality that made her so memorable to those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Ifert; her son, Scot Ifert, (Kristina M. Barrett); her sisters, Lynda Nixon and husband Larry of Vero Beach, Florida, and Claudia Teague and husband Ben of Anderson, Indiana; and a host of extended family members and good friends who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter W. and Mildred McDonald Kemmer.

Those who knew Susan will remember her as a woman who was loving, friendly, and faith-filled. She had a gentle presence and a sincere way of making others feel welcome and cared for. Her life was a blessing to her family, and her memory will remain a source of comfort and love to all who were fortunate enough to share in it.

Susan Renee Ifert leaves behind a legacy of devotion, warmth, and enduring faith. Though she will be deeply missed, her family and friends take comfort in knowing that her life was well lived and that her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, October 1, 2026 at the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, 6805 Dr. ML King Jr Blvd., Anderson, IN 46013.
