Susan J. Mills

Susie J. Mills, 85, of Bradenton, FL, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023. She was born on August 15, 1937, in Anderson, Indiana, where she resided most of her life until retirement when she moved to Bradenton, FL.

Susie graduated from Anderson High School in 1955 and was the Indian Maiden her senior year.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and caregiver. Susie liked to cross-stitch, make quilts and embroider, play golf and cards, and enjoyed the outdoors, but most importantly she loved to spend time with her family and friends. She also served on the Steven V. Mills Memorial Foundation. They raised money for organizations that served the youth of the community.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Milton L. Mills, Jr.; sons, Denny Mills and Ron (Jeanette) Mills; daughter-in-law, Sally Mills; grandchildren, Matthew Mills, Ryan (Christine) Mills, Jason (Amanda) Barnett, and Tiffany Anderson; great-grandchildren, Althea, Cecelia, Joanna, and Abraham Mills, Klayton (Kelsey) Jeffries, Haylee, Jacob, and Raelyn Barnett, Layla Raines, and Ryan Atkinson; and great-great-grandchildren, Boston and Kensley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John V. and Mildred J. Kirkman; son, Steven V. Mills; and granddaughter, Holly D. Mills.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, IN.

Services will be Wednesday, May 17, 2023, 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Don Deena Johnson officiating.

Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.
