Listen to Obituary
After a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s, Thomas J Fox III passed away peacefully Sunday at his home in Pendleton, Indiana.

He was born on April 2, 1943, to Thomas J Fox II, and Willa (Warneford) Fox. He graduated from Lawrenceburg High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Ball State University. Tom spent the bulk of his career as a Warthog at Franklin Elementary School in Anderson. His wit and sense of humor endeared him to many of his students and colleagues. He kept students engaged by making class interactive whether it was sending model rockets into the sky, playing the “map game” for atomic fireballs, or the occasional prison dodgeball match.

His retirement years were spent doing what he loved, landscaping. He took pride in creating lovely gardens at his home. He was a member of The Rock Steady Boxing Club, which specializes in training for Parkinson’s patients. A special thanks to all of the trainers at Rock Steady Boxing, the training program gave him additional quality years. If you have a loved one dealing with Parkinson’s, you should explore this program.

Thomas is survived by his loving spouse, Margaret (Blessing) Fox, children Desiree Tilford (Dennis), Tom Fox (Heather), John Fox, his sister Gayla Beck (Ray), his granddaughters Bailey Tilford, and Tamsin Tilford, and dear friend Jerry H. Goehring.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jennifer Fox, brother Gould Fox and father-in-law Bill Stum.

A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jennifer C. Fox scholarship fund at the South Madison Community Foundation, 233 S. Main St., Pendleton IN 46064.
