Wanda L. Thacker

Wanda graduated from Anderson High School in 1944 and married Delbert Wayne Thacker in December of 1945. They made their home in Anderson where they raised a family and lived for over 60 years. Wanda was a member of Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church in Fortville, IN. A few years after her husband passed away in 2008, Wanda moved to Sarasota, Florida to be near her daughter Rebecca (Becky) and her family. Wanda was an amazing seamstress and loved quilting, cooking, spending time with her family, John Wayne and country westerns, peonies, and the sound of wind chimes.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, D. Wayne Thacker, her son, Danny, her daughters, Sharon (Thacker) Alberts and Rebecca (Thacker) Gulley, her parents, and her siblings, Ramona, Sandra, Herma “Sis”, Jimmie and Logan.

She is survived by her six grandchildren: David Thacker of Huber Heights, OH, Chris Thacker, Muncie, IN, Chad Hawk and Curtis Hawk, both of Florida, Nathan Alberts, Rushville, IN, and Amy Alberts, Anderson. Wanda is also survived by many great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Elder Bill Blackburn officiating.
