William "Bill" F. Collins

William "Bill" Collins, 79, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to his community. He was born on September 15, 1945, to his parents James and Helen Collins.

Bill was a graduate of Anderson High School, and proudly served six years in the United States Army Reserve. He was a member of the American Legion and worked 40 years at General Motors. He also volunteered with the Middletown Volunteer Fire Department.

A skilled craftsman, Bill loved carpentry and built several homes. He owned and operated Collins' Excavating and Collins' Towing Service, was part owner of Middletown Self-Storage, and worked at Sam Pierce Chevrolet in Daleville, Indiana.

Bill enjoyed sports throughout his life, playing industrial softball, coaching girl's softball, and playing basketball. He was a regular at The Scorecard in Middletown, where he met friends for meals. Bill loved fishing and hunting on the family property in Michigan, and enjoyed visiting Hoosier Park Casino.

He is survived by his children, Mark (Lisa) Collins, Kim Bigam and Amy (David) Hitchcock; seven grandchildren, Hope (Matt) Lariviere, Hayden Hitchcock, Austin (Katie) Collins, Madison (Devon) Baxter, Bailey (Tyler) Pfennigs, Emily (Andrew) Haskell and Logan (Trevin) Pruitt; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Ron (Becky) Collins and special friend, Teresa Riggs.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Collins; parents and brother, Fred Collins.

Bill will be remembered for his strong work ethic, community service and love of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, Indiana.

Services will follow visitation on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
