William H. Hendley

William H. Hendley, 72, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 5, 2023. He was born on June 9, 1951.

Bill established the Hendley Family Association, LLC. He was veteran of U.S. Airforce serving during the Vietman War. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Bill supported activities at the Otterbein in Franklin and helped many with geneology research. He was a civil war buff and did historical reenactments. He also helped with the State of Indiana veterans legislation for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Julie Hendley; siblings, Freddie (Kathy) Hendley, Patricia (Jack) Hendley, Sheila (Patrick) O’Steen, and Sharon Hendley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Opal Hendley.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Sunday at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 AM Monday, August 14, 2023 followed by a graveside service with military honors at 2:30 PM at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
