William Speidel

William “Bill” Speidel, 68, of Marion, IN passed away on February 9, 2023. Bill was born on August 7, 1954 in Anderson, IN to the late Harrold and Ernestine (Moore) Speidel. Bill faithfully served our country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. Bill enjoyed cooking, collecting coins, and watching sports, especially Nascar. He had a fascination with the Japanese culture and enjoyed Japanese Animation. He could also speak and read Japanese. Bill was an avid reader and loved traveling. He also enjoyed having game nights with his sister, Jane.

Bill will be dearly missed by his siblings, Jane Arnold of Sweetser, IN, Jerry (Carolyn) Speidel of Muncie, IN, and George (Donna) Speidel of Henrietta, TX; his nieces, Tammy Schaffer of Lafayette, IN, Stephanie Dillingham of Ridgeville, IN, and Jody Mowery of New Castle, OK; several great-nieces and nephews; and his tuxedo kitty, Megumi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrold and Ernestine; brother, Donald Speidel; and nephew, Adam Waymire.

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2023 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson 46013. The funeral ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park. All Memorial Contributions in his name may be gifted to the American Heart Association.
