Willie H. Ferrell

Willie H. Ferrell, 91, of Anderson, passed away on April 4, 2023. Willie was born on May 7, 1931 in Allons, Tennessee to the late Bedford and Arngie (Brown) Ferrell. He married the love of his life, Daffo Greenwood, and the two were married for 67 years until her passing in 2021. Willie faithfully served our country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Willie found his spiritual home at Valley Grove Free Will Baptist Church and was a faithful member for many years. He was a skilled cabinet maker and could fix anything he put his hands on. Willie was an amazing cook and enjoyed gardening. He was a fan of Westerns and country music. Most importantly, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Willie will be dearly missed by his daughter, Brenda Hughes; grandchildren, Michelle Hughes and Justin Hughes; great-grandchildren, Shelby (Ben) Kirkwood, Jayden Hughes, Navin Jones, and Kinley Hughes; great-great-grandchildren, Bennett, Aubree, Emma, Kendall, Isaac, Jaedyn, and Leilani; sister, Bessie (Roy) Winkler; and lifelong friend, Irene Bilbrey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Daffo; son-in-law, Randy Hughes; granddaughter, Cheree Hughes; sister, Cewilla Ferrell; and brother-in-law, Hoyt Bilbrey.

The visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2023 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
