Willie Jean Townsend, 83, passed away Aug. 26, 2025.
Willie was born July 4, 1942 to Louis and Mariam Townsend. He was a 1961 Anderson High School graduate, US Army veteran and GM retiree. Willie enjoyed singing, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Willie is survived by his wife Bettie Townsend; son Marcus Townsend; daughters Maria Wilson, Garnetta (Nickye) Coleman, Regenia Townsend; brothers Harold Townsend, Rishard (Leroyna) Townsend; sisters Maria Wilson, Rebecca Townsend, Hattie (Charles) Hobson, Mary Gray; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11am Saturday at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 2124 Cedar St., with visitation 2 hours prior to service. Burial at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
