Wilma H. Barrow

Wilma Howerton Barrow, 104, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023. She was born to Henry and Jessie (O’Bryant) Howerton, on September 28, 1918. She was a lifelong resident of Anderson, graduating from AHS in 1936. After secretarial school, she worked at a doctor’s office, then she worked as a school secretary. She met and married David Engler Barrow, April 6, 1942. They then had a daughter, Ann Cook.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, Civic Women, and The Isabel Society.

The family would like to thank the staff of Harter House, Vermillion Place, and Care Hospice for their tender care.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Ann (David) Cook; granddaughter, Amy (Dick) Lancaster; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Henry, and Kate Lancaster.
